HELP - Mondeo Blown Turbo????
Discussion
Hi all,
Just collected my TDCi 130 from the bodywork shop this morning after a light front end bump.
10 miles after collecting I heard a small pop, lost a lot of power and saw lots of smoke come from the back whilst on the motorway.
Managed to crawl it to a trusted local garage near work to have it looked at.
My first thought was a blown turbo, which I'm crapping myself about due to cost but it just seems like a coincidence that it's happened just after I have collected the car. What else could it be??

Did you get the flashing glow plug light of doom? The ECU will put the car into limp home mode with injector problems, and after having them I can say there's feck all power from it in that mode.
Could well be an intercooler issue, if it's with a garage I'm sure they'll look for the obvious first
ETA - even if it is turbo I'd say you'd get it sorted for less than £500

You can get a Turbo on your for around £350. They are not the hardest items to fit, it can be done yourself!
