Ford Focus Belt Squeel

Have a 2001 focus (Old Style) 85K at low revs under load I get what sounds like belt squeel, replace the belt and it stopped for a few weeks then came back, I have now changed the poly V main tensioner and it has made a little difference but still dose it some of the time.

There is a guide pully would this cause the same problem when spun it is a little ratterly.

i believe the alternator has a variable pulley and quite often it is this that can cause problems, also the idler pulley can give the same effect, take the belt off and feel the bearings in them,
