Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can offer advice.

My car seems to have a subtle shudder. It is not felt not through the steering wheel but mid car underneath the seat area. The shutter seems to be more apparent on uneven tarmac and long runs at a steady speed not as bad on smooth tarmac.

I've completely replaced the tyres had them balanced and tracked and wonder if this uneveness shudder is possibilty damper related.

I've knocked the car out of gear and even switched the engine off and the problem is still there.

If it was sub frame or bush related i would imagine it start to knock.

Thanking you in advance for any advice.

Cheers

Steve

Deteriorating bushes don't always knock/clunk, but they can very easily move around enough that your wheel/s runs out of true under load and starts to oscillate. It is definitely worth having it up on a ramp to check.

You can actually see them from underneath on level ground, just crawl underneath on your back with a torch.

Also check the springs while you're there

Cheers for your reply I've had it into the dealer on several ocassions but they are either totally incompetent or due to the fact that it was under warranty were not prepared to do any dianostic work unless it jumps out screaming fix me !!!!!
