So I thought this would be a good place to come and ask some silly questions, hope you lot don't mind! smile

After letting the Boxster go for a variety of reasons, I'm toying with what to get to fill the hole and I think the ST might just be the car.

My opening silly questions are:
1) Does the face lifted version have any new performance bits or is it just a cosmetic upgrade?
2) Does anybody have a link to the differences between the ST-2 and ST-3?
3) What's the ST-500 all about? Was it just a special edition with nasty (IMO) red leather seats?
4) Can the Mountune upgrades be fitted to any ST or does it have to be an '08? ETA: Just answered this one myself! smile

Cheers for your help...

Answer to question 2.

ST1 No ESP (prefacelift only, all Facelift Focus models come with ESP), Halogen headlights, CD player, cloth Recaros, manual aircon. That's about it.

ST2. as ST1 plus ESP, Xenons, Sony CD player

ST3. As ST2 plus leather Recaros, 6-disc Sony CD

Edited to add there is no performance difference between them or the face lift model. I don't think there are that many ST1's, they had to be specially ordered rather than come from dealer stock.

I bought the ST as a hack for when i wasn't using the cerbera. The TVR has gone and i'm happy just to keep the ST. I have a Dreamscience mapper, so it's pleanty of fun and a great all rounder. But i would like an '09 RS!!

Thanks for that, I'm just back from driving a 07 ST-2, which was very nice actually. Spent too much time in traffic, but it showed that it's quite easy to drive and can do the commute thing well.

When we did get out of the traffic, I was quite impressed with it, nice amount of shove but you do notice the turbo coming in, but I'm sure I'd get used to that over time.

I bought an 07 ST-3 just over a month ago and I haven't looked at the classifieds once since then! yum

I think some of them are cracking value for money now.

Mate the mountune can be fitted to any ST whether its a facelift or prefacelift.

Ive had ny facelift ST for 8 months now, and its great in every respect to be honest. But it does benefit from a remap (regardless of which route u take)

If you do get an ST the focusSTOC is a fantastic source of knowledge and full of friendly people ready to help and have a laugh with.

Look forward to seeing u on the forums. Good luck.

Cracking car that fulfils a number of roles very well. The noise is addictive, it handles well and with a remap is a proper little rocket. Just be ready for 20mpg, that's all.

The MPG doesn't bother me too much as the Boxster only returned about 25mpg most days.

Cripes, just checked on the width of the Focus (I have a small garage) and I've just found out it's another 5cm wider then the Boxster, and that's without the mirrors being taken into account! That seems nuts for a family hatchback...

Going to have to borrow one and see if I can fit it in before I spend the hard earned on it frown
