EML on st170 again!

eml light has come on again but this time has stayed on,as before but used to come on and off,i just put it down to custom exhaust system and induction kit.no codes were ever shown on on-board diagnostic system.as the same now,but light has stayed on this time,ive done 500 miles ish in last 2 weeks with no obvious signs of any fault,any ideas?as its beginning to get quite irritating!as emls always r!

Could be the lamba sensor if you bashed it a bit when fitting the exhaust. It could also be the MAF as they can get gummed up if you over oil the induction kit filters.

if the MAF is caoted in oil clean it (look it up on the internet) and wash out the Induction kit filter as per the instructions and re-oil it lightly. If it is the Lambda sensor it may need replacing.

I would have thought there would be some error codes if the EML has come on.
