The speedo on my Focus is sometimes flicking back to zero for a few seconds or so and is becoming more frequent. I believe it is electronic rather than cable driven. Any ideas?

Loose connection somewhere? Perhaps a multiplug? Any other devices having problems?

Wouldn't know where to start looking though.

Quite common for the speed sender in the gearbox to fail on these. Mine did the same thing, though the engine would also cut out you dipped the clutch while the speedo was playing up. All fixed with a new sender for about £40 fitted.

Depending on the age of your car the mk1/mk2 focus give bother with the speedo clocks a fault which ford have reconised and have put right with the help of watch dog!!!! The speedo clocks were over £300 but i think the dealers now do the job for just over £100 plus gordon brown, as the clocks have been reduced to some were in the region of 60 quid.
hope this helps.
