Could anyone tell me the approximate real world mpg from one of these.

Parkers suggest 54mpg but I find these figures are always a little optimistic.

Thanks.

Hi, I've had a 2002 "51" TDCI since September 2002 and over 102K miles it has averaged 48 mpg. This is by recording mileage and the amount of fuel. For comparison, the trip computer says currently 45 mpg for the same period.

Well I currently own a Focus 1.8 TDDi

And when Fords changed the engine for a common-rail they tuned it to give the same fuel economy but more power, so I reckon you should get the same as me, I get 45mpg on a combined sort of cycle. I did a 300 mile motorway trip to cronwall at 60mph and got 70mpg out of it

I owned a Mk1 TDCi Sport (Zetec with a bodykit) for a while, did predominantly mid-length (37-mile) M-way commutes in it, and never saw higher than 43mpg. I did cruise at about 85+mph when traffic permitted though, and it was sometimes a little give-and-take rather than steady-state.

...but then isn't that what the real-world is like?!?

Drove very nicely though...unless you're doing 20k+ a year then IMHO fuel economy isn't everything...

currently getting about 33 around town, 58 if i stay at 60 on a long drive, 45 if i do a bit more, thats running a tuning box and induction filter so it uses a bit more than before but gear change is alot lot lot smoother and loses alot of the low down lag that it had before, this is on a 02 plate 1.8 tdci with over 150k on it, and went on a track recently and it pulled 120 before i had to brake, also try to get one with rear disc brakes, my last one had drums and brake fade was shocking
