Zetec Blacktop Cam Timing Help needed
Discussion
The Pinto to Zetec conversion on my Ginetta G27 was going really well until I removed the cam belt to modify the backing plate. Despite being really careful, one of the cam pulleys moved slightly (probably by about one tooth) but I dont know which way.
Had loads of advice on what I should have done to lock or mark the pulleys before removing the belt but unfortunately it's too late for that.
My dilema is that there seem to be no markings on the crank pulley (other than the keyway) and lots of markings on the cam pulleys that seem to make no sense at all.
Could one of you help me out with a setup procedure for aligning the pulleys and refitting the cam belt on a 2.0 Zetec Blacktop.
Cheers, Tony
P.S. I was told that there is a marking on the sump to align the crank pulley but as I've fitted a Raceline lowered sump that doesn't exist either.

Hi when i did mine, you place a piece of flat bar into the grooves of cam shaft ends on the right hand side by the battery to align cam shafts.
to allign the crank shaft there is a mark on the aux drive pulley that aligns with a mark on the sump but you may also be able to use tha alignment tool thats basicaly a bolt that screws into the cyclender block behind the alternator, you have to remove a blank/bolt first, you the rotate the crank untill it hits the bolt then you have tdc (rotate by hand!!)
sorry for any spelling mistakes,
Thanks Simon.
