FIesta Fuel Problems

iv just got a fiesta mk4 zetec for my 1st car and its drinking petrol quickly. i got it off a chap that used it daily but a small journy takes a fair amount out the tank. is this just a fiesta being a fiesta, being to fast with the the cluch or something elce ?

What cc Zetec is it?
How miles has your car done, and what mpg are you getting?

not 100% on the mgp its 1.25 zetec its done 83000 but im getting about 130 mile on half a tank

Hi mate.. I used to have a 1.25cc zetec fiesta and it was usually pretty good on fuel, not once did I break down, its a good little car.

I cant remember how much I used to get out of it, but half a tank is around £20 isnt it? I no petrol has gone up a lot...

Look in your hand book and find out how many miles to the gallon you should be getting..
one gallon is ruffly 3.8 liters so find out how many liters you get when you fill up with half a tank and do the maths, you should be able to find out if you getting the right amount of miles ..

eg. if your suposed to get 40 miles per gallon..
and say your getting 18L for your £20 then devide 18L by 3.8L which = 4.7 G
then 4.7 G x 38m = 180miles

you should be able to tell if your car is running efficiently or not...O and it also doesnt help if your ragging your car around, heavy foot means lots of petrol..But I know everyone does it

Surely that's reasonable? I can't imagine your car taking much more than forty quid to fill up so 130 miles on twenty quid (ie: just over 4 gallons) is about right.

Isn't to bad. I got 400 miles out of a tank this morning on the trip home.
