Personally, I wouldn't bother. I'd upgrade them instead to early V6 discs and callipers or, better still, Mk3 Mondeo callipers and Focus ST170 discs. Then think about fitting better pads.

Not sure if you can use the ST170 callipers, to be honest. The discs, definitely. The Mk3 Mondeo callipers (very cheap down the scrappy, and all the same whether 1.8 or ST220) need a small spacer (washer), although off the top of my head I can't recall what size. As far as I remember, it's covered in detail on one of the Mondeo websites - MEG, I think.

Mondeo mk3 calipers does not matter which ones as they are the same across the renge from the 1.8 to the st220. ST170 discs and the washers you need to space the calipers out need to be 3mm thick. Also i would upgrade to braided hoses i did this conversion on my mk1 4x4 and the braking is so much better.
