Mondeo 2.2 TDCI Startup Noises
Discussion
Guys,
I posted months ago asking if the ST TDCI is known for "moosing" noises like the ST220.
Anyway, the noise has got worse. Car is fine once warmed up. There is an exagerated diesel noise from the back left of the engine, but it's the background vibration noise, actually more a rubbling noise, that's bothering me, very noticable in the car when pulling away cold.
Listen especially between 15 & 20 seconds.
Car runs out of warranty in 3 weeks. Last time it was in they said it was normal. What do you guys think?

All TDCI's suffer from noise from pulley's....
It is what gives that diesel knock noise on tick over and low revs...
Could be worth a look depending on what miles you have covered.
Thanks, been told there was a service bulletin for this, 18/2005. It's booked in for next week. It is what gives that diesel knock noise on tick over and low revs...
