Fiesta Help please

My parents 02 petrol Fiesta has just shown "AEC Failure" what ever that is. (loss of power, max speed 15 mph etc) Main dealer says it's a module failure but their subcontractor in Germany has gone bust and there is no current alternative for supply. Any one have any ideas what to do next?

I think you may mean 'EAC'?
It means that there is a fault with the electronic throttle control. You will need to get the car diagnosed for the exact fault code.

The car has gone into 'limp' mode; it will mean the car will not drive above above 15 mph to prevent further damaage

Thanks for that Trooper. Hopefully the fault code diagnosis might lead to something repairable rather than replace an "out of stock" electronic module.
