Hi i have been restoring the wifes RS and have now developed a fault with the immobiliser, the fuel pump wont prime and starter motor wont turn. There sound like theres a click from somewhere in the engine bay but nothing else.
Any ideas where to start.
Thanks

re you sure it isnt the fuel pump relay and not the immobiliser, or even worse the starter switch. If you check out RS2000-16v.com a few people would be able to help you out.

Is the red light on the dash flashing??? if not its not a fault with the immobiliser.

A bit of a thread resurrection I know but what the hell,
finally got the old girl running after taking her off the road 3 years ago, it turned out that there were the remnants of three alarm/immobilisers all conflicting with each other.
I called an auto electrician out who spent an hour on it only to tell me it was scrap, one last ditch attempt I thought,so repaired all the wires that had been butchered at various times and changed the fuse box back to the old one which I changed 2 years ago thinking it was faulty,and....

she fired up instantly, sounded a bit rattley untill the oil had got round and warmed up, so now I'm chuffed to bits that this problem didn't beat me.
woohoo
