MK3 Fiesta URGENT
Discussion
Hello,
Normal Start, I'm new and obviously need help. First car details:
MK3 Fiesta manufactured Nov 93, Reg Jan 94, LX, "L Plate" and is in middle of change over between MK3 and MK3.5, as in some parts from each" 1300 HCS, CFI 2 door hatch.
Right just spent 14 months doing some changes, but now have following problem and can't find answer:
We have wired a FRST loom in to the 1300 HCS CFI engine loom, have chopped FRST loom in just the engine bay side of fuse box, (USED the FRST fuse box)
The Old HCS fuse box had a Fuel pump relay only, the FRST one has a FUEL PUMP RELAY and a FUEL PUMP DELAY RELAY. Problem: we can't start car as the fuel pump is on all the time. If you remove the fuel pump relay it has no effect at all, (we have replaced this in case it was faulty) if however you remove the fuel pump delay relay it cuts power completely, and pump stops working. There is fuel in car.
What I can't find in Haynes manual is the wiring diagram for both multi-plugs that connect the fuse box to the engine loom. That the the diagram for the HCS multi-plug and the FRST multi-plug, the one that comes from the fuse box in to the engine bay.
We've spent a lot of time on this little car, (I mean a lot) But are at a full stop at present, any and all assistance greatly appreciated (I mean greatly)
Kind Regards
Dave)

Any use?

Hello,
Thank you for this. Is this the FRST fuse box multi plug, that connects to the engine multi plug? If so do you also have the one that would have come from the HCS CFI fuse box multi plug?
What I need to do is to rewire the FRST fuse box and the fuse box multi plug so it will work with the HCS CFI engine loom. We think the problem lies here, and is why the fuel pump it on all the time.
This of course will just keep over pressurising the fuel system, and we think is why the engine wont start. If we pour a little fuel direct in to the single point injector the engine fires, but can't do a lot in case of fire.
So what we need to do is compare the wiring of the FRST loom compared to the HCS CFI loom in particular that part relevant to the fuel pump wiring.
What I don't see on yours is the fuel pump delay relay which seem to be on the fuse box we have installed?
Thank you once again for what you have already done,
Kind Regards
Dave
