i have an 1800 zetec silver top. and am doing a project to modify the cylinder head, but do not want to remove the current cylinder head until the tuned one is ready. the problem is i have an 1800 zetec black top head, is it interchangeable with the silver top one.

what are the differences between the silver top and black top engines?

Not quite sure about 1800, but i know with the silver and black top 1600's the later engines have a 3-Piece Crank Shaft end float bearing and another lambda sensor in the manifold.

Head should be the same?
