Fiesta MK4 1.3 Brakes

Morning Guys
I purchased a 1.3 fezza a few weeks ago and at the minute, you have to plan your braking. I went out yesterday, purchased some new discs and pads for the front, removed the old set to find there was plenty of disc and pad. I changed the disc anyway (as the monkey gave me some brembo's) well actually, only one because I rounded the nut on the other - thats a different story - I'll sort the other tonight.
Anyway - I assume the brakes more than likely need bleeding because of the spongyness to them. I have a rough idea of what needs to be done ... chap in car, pump brakes, loosen bleed nipple to lose air out of system - repeat for each side.
Would air in the system cause the symptoms mentioned?
Also changed the air filter, rocker cover gasket, plugs - I feel like a fully qualified mechanic if it wasn't for that bloody bolt that rounded

I have a Mk5 as a run about and the brakes aren't great but ok. Air in beside the brake fluid makes the pedal spongy, air in beside the brake fluid doesn't make you round off nuts 
I take it you mean the disc retaining bolt? Drill the head off and forget about it, its only a locating screw, the wheel nuts hold it on when the wheel is on.

The disc should have four holes for the wheel bolts and one or two torx headed bolts on face that the wheel presses against. Those are holding the disc in place for you while the wheel is off but its the four large wheel bolts that are holding the disc in place when the brake pedal is pushed, not the little bolt or two. Is doesn't have to be there but if you do want to replace it, drill the head off, take the disc off and use pliers or mole grips to try an twist the remaining shaft of the screw off.

You might want to hammer head a bit before you drill it to try and loosen the grip the rust has in the threads and WD40 the shaft as best you can before trying to turn it with pliers or grips.

The bolt I rounded had to come off ... It was a bracket that held the disc on so even though it could be pulled foward, you couldn't get it past the retaining braket.
No bother, after me shouting a swearing at it for an hour on monday night my mechanic friend removed the offending item in around 30 seconds.
I fitted the new discs and went out for a run and the braking was still shocking - trip to the local motor factors, brake fuild purchased, bled the two front and we now have a decent set of stoppers!!!

zad i disagree, i have a mk4 fiesta q.25 with new brakes lines new pads new discs etc, and tbh a 10 ish year old kid is lucky i service my cars because it stops DEAD with all that (kid ran out of parked cars a couple of days ago, you should see the black lines on the road, they were there at least a week)
thing is about my car, is that theres a sort of feel to the pedal that means that pushing about 80% is like half as effective as alll the way were the pedal gets very stiff, so if you didnt mash your foot down that little bit harder you wouldnt even know that braking power was there, seriously though i went 40 to 0 in the space of about <30 metres so i would call my cars braking crap, especially in comparison to cars of the same type and age
