I'm trying to solve a problem with my focus. It was working fine on friday morning then came back to it in the afternoon and now it is dog slow.

First thought was the turbo but I removed the hose to the intercooler and revved the engine and its definitely giving boost.

Second thought was blocked fuel filter so changed that but still no luck.

So now i'm a bit stumped and can't decide my next move. The car is running and idling fine, no odd noises and just acts like a NA diesel, i.e. low power. Its still revs to the redline just very slowly.

Car has done 211k and as I've said was working fine till now.

Any ideas/suggestions

blocked exhaust ? FIP problems ? Injectors ? wastegate stuck open ?

As it happened suddenly I've kind of ruled out a blocked exhaust as surely this would cause a more gradual loss of power.

Did wonder about the wastegate but turbo seems to be working as far as I can tell.

Hope its not the injection pump.

EGR valve failed? I think you need to see if it is producing any ECU error codes and go from there, there is a whole range of errors that will put it into limited operation / low power mode.
