Getting my car 'superchipped' Friday. On the Website it says a BHP gain of 10BHP AND 10 N/M of torque gained.

Has anybody done this that can verify these claims?

Cannot wait to get it done.

Honest opinion?

Save your money...

Have you done anything else to it? Exhaust/filter/etc?

You're not gonna notice much of an increase, it may smooth out the power/torque, but as I'm guessing it's gonna be costing you £200-300... I'd look elsewhere to spend my hard earned...

A good induction kit is good for (a proven) 5 to 10bhp on these cars, due to the oem filter sitting on the top of the engine and all the pipework associated with it...

Along with a Miltek flexi-pipe (the original is VERY restrictive), will be a better benefit for your money...

All IMO of course... wink

Or better still, save the pennies towards a Mountune 185 kit.

Thanks mate i might see what other posts i get an go from there.
The car is stock at the mo.

Just out of interest what is the Miltek flexi-pipe? Is it something to do with the exhaust manifold?

It's the bit in between the Manifold and the Cat... The internal diameter of the standard flexipipe is tiny in comparison with the rest of the standard system... the Miltek flexipipe is much bigger...

Give PumaSpeed a ring... 01924 360 260 - They'll set you straight as to what to do and what not to do...

Thanks Dave i will get on the blower now and see what they suggest.

Might save myself £280 sheets for Bank Holiday drinking!

I just want to do something instantly just being too impatient!

Cheers for the advice.

A cancellation is in order!

Nearly fell over! Car produced 168.9bhp! Happy days!!

But did you put it on the rollers before the mod? I would suggest they are rather generous fugures, a bolt on filter isnt going to give you over 20bhp on a 2.0 4 pot

Pumaspeeed or Pumabuild for the Milltek bits...

The k&n on the ST gives a proven 10bhp... I'm not sure on the exact figures which the STs put out as standard... (I know they're advertised as 150ps/148bhp, but what they actually produce, is another matter.)

No i didn't roll it first so i am thinking that maybe the car was slightly up to begin with.

Either way i am very happy with the result. Might just go with the flexi pipe and then leave it at that.

Hahaha famous last words...

Filters make it faster by sounding faster wink Seriously, they make a big difference when COLD but once it gets hot under the bonnet on a summers day wave bye bye to any gains.
