Ford Escort Mark IV Brakes Binding

The front brakes on my 1990 Ford Escot MK IV were binding in cold weather oddly enough.
After much investigation I realised that the brake pedal was not returning fully.
Lubricating the brake pedal linkage system to the servo / master cylinder sorted it out.
May be worth checking prior to extensive, potentially expensive and time consuming investigations.
