Hi folks can any one reccomend a good mechanic to work on a rs focus ? my nephew has a 52 plate with a little problem When you rev it up no smoke ,as revs die down white smoke appers its not burning oil,no water loss or mixing with oil
He is in braintree essex i know a few mechanics But i would like it to go to a RS Garage who knows RS stuff
When you 1st start it no smoke ? it does not smell too much like oil
Is the turbo on its way out ? or something totally different?

cheers in advance jrm

Sounds like turbo. Try Harrow Cross Motor Works at Sible Hedingham, Mick Jennings 01787 460965, he's a great old-style engineer who has a rolling road and engineering facilities on-site. If he can't help he'll point you in the direction of someone who can.

In any event a run up from Braintree through Gosfield to S-H isn't going to cause any harm...

PM me for further information.

Be worth replacing the breather valve first (looking at front of car on right behind cam cover) i had this on mine & it turned out the valve was stuck open so oil was getting into the inlet was about £16 from the dealer iirc. If not that then most likely turbo tbh, how many miles has it done?? my turbo lasted just over 60k
