Focus ST- Battery charging

Hello all
I've managed to flatten the battery on my Focus ST by leaving the parking lights on all night. I was able to jump start the car without any problems and went for a 30 mins drive to "teach" the ECU but was wondering if I should trickle charge the battery for 12 hrs. Any thought or suggestion out there? Is there anything I should do before charging or is it simply a matter of connecting the charger to the terminals?
