Hi all,
Can someone confirm for me that the 'Zetec' in the Fiesta Zetec-s of X-reg vintage is actually the Sigma 1.6??
I have a friend who needs a starter motor and fancied a look in the breakers.

IIRC it's not a Sigma, I think Sigma's are the Zetec-E engines. Stand to be corrected though!

A 1.25 or 1.4 Zetec-SE uses the same starter according to our books at work though.

Well.
It certainly was a Simga. Starter on the front with the inlet, exhaust out the back. Only one in the yard and it wasn't in a car so I feel quite lucky!!
Good to know someone who has access to the parts books for further reference!!
Thanks for your interest!! smile

Ah cool, couldn't remember which way round the names go. Good old Ford having about 500 different names for any single engine!

Got access to everything mate, I work at a Ford dealer!

Yes the Zetec-S has the Sigma 1.6 unit, they come in 2 flavours older silvertop cam cover pre 2000 and blacktop plastic cam cover after 2000.
