Hi everyone,

A friend is looking at buying a MK1 3dr 1.6 (petrol) Focus - unfortunately the one he is loookin at is a MY 2000 (W reg) and has a cassette player (RDS-4000?). He was wondering if it would be possible to do a straight swap from this to a Ford CD player and if so which one should he look to buy that will fit.

Thanks in advance

Try having a look on ebay. Usually you can find the info you need on there - many of the sellers are pretty clued up on what fits what. IIRC, it's pretty easy to get a fascia and loom adapter to fit an after market head unit. I had a cracking system in my Mk1 Focus company car 10 years ago! smile

I should think for the same amount of money an aftermarket one would be better, I'll admit I haven't had a look at the cost of a 2nd hand ford one

The main problem is that he doesnt want to have to change the fascia on the centre console :s

I will suggest it to him but im guessing he will need to be ringing around tomorow!

Thanks for the input so far guys

Straight swap for a Ford 6000CD. Look on Ebay. I done it on my Puma.
