Gear Stick Not Neutralizing ! Help?

Hello all.... i am trying to sell our 2000(w) focus estate... but people keep being put off by the gear stick not self neutralizing. After searching through various Ford Forums i found out it is the selector spring. It does now affect the car at all just slightly irritating, anyway i purchased one. It was a few pound from a motor factors i think i paid £3.75 with family discount .
Ok this is were i need help... i use the car every day and dont want to attempt replacing it and balls it up... so if there is anyone out there who can just give a step by step guide will be very thankful!

I have done this, its easy but can be fiddly. But here is a good write up on how to do it.. I did one a long time ago but not able to find it any more.
