Looking to get a bit more poke & miles out of this crappy little engine and wondered what are the best value ones out there. I'm more inclined to get a self install thingy like a bluefin rather than take it somewhere for remapping.

Any suggestions as to what ones to use???

They all pretty much claim similar figures - 90BHP & 200NM after.

The more well known names are wanting 400 notes... whereas you can get it done for 100. I know from previous experience of remapping the big names don't necessarily get you the best map.

A proper rolling road remap would be best, but I have heard good things about the bluefin unit. You could always get a 2nd hand unit with some'lives' left

I Bluefinned my car, couldn't beat it. Ordered one day, arrived next, remapped the car on my driveway while I ate my dinner. Even considering it's a boggo 1.8 Duratec, the remap has made a noticable difference. Even the missus commented that "the car is going well" when she drove it (and she didn't know it had been remapped).
