Ford Ka Idle issues (self revs when warm!)
Discussion
Gf's Ford Ka is having a recurrent issue ('99 1.3 litre).
Essentially car 'self revs' when the clutch is put in. Typially occuring at standstill but also on occasion during gear changes. The problem is more evident after the car has warmed up - approx 20 mins of driving.
Was looked at by a mechanic a few weeks back, idle control valve was cleaned the the problem improved. It has however returned and is quite a bit worse than previously.
Any ideas? Idle control valve again? Perhaps MAF?
TIA

Can be dirt in the idle control valve causing it to stick but can also be caused by a hole in the breather pipes. Follow the pipe from the oil cap you will see it goes to the top of the rocker cover & splits feel the underneath where it rubs on the rocker cover as they often rub through which causes all sorts of running faults
