Mondeo Engine Fan

We have a 52 plate 2 lire petrol Mondeo, over the past week or so while driving the engine cooling fan keeps kicking in, the temp is not reading anything above normal, we just wondered if anyone knew why this would be happening?

Doesn't seem to be anything else untoward going on, just that the fan keeps kicking in and staying active for a while.

A/C on?

Apparently, it happens when the AC is on and off, partner just took it out for a drive to the garage, and it seems that it is leaking coolant, so its booked in for a fix at weekend
