03 focus ST170 engine light on

as a bove i have a 2003 ford focus ST170 and to day the engine light came on it did not seem to afect the running of it but if its on its not right
my mate code read it for me and it logged ( P1537 intake manifold control solenoid stuck open ) can any on one help me or advice me on what on the best thing to do can it be cleaned or is it time for a new part

Sorry i can't be of any help with the fault code but my ST170 management light was on for very nearly the whole time i owned it,used to check it every now and then and it would throw up a different code.Like yours there never seemed to be a problem when driving.

Same here. Mine was four months old when i purchased it from a main dealer and i lost count of the times it went back to the sevice department. I think they kept changing the coil packs and lamda sensor.

If you do a search there is a list of known faults with the ST170, i think mine had all of them!
