I am restoring a 3/72 Mk1 escort twincam and I am trying to find out what badges and decals where origanlly fitted form the factory. I am in Australia and this is an Australian car if that makes any difference.??

Don't recall them having any decals, to be honest, just an understated twin cam badge which can be obtained here:

I've seen some with black rear panels but again, my memory seems to recall they were all one colour.

Oz Twin Cams could be very different like this one,

The last UK models were offered in other colours other than white, but not many! wink

Thanks for the info.

I have found out Australian Twincams prior to 72 were badged and sold as Twincams but 72 and later were sold as GT1600, something to do with insurance at the time I think.

I had a 72 with ESCORT badges on the front guards (same size and shape as the TWINCAM badges but different wording) and GT1600 tranfer on boot, and I think the same decals/tranfers were on the guards. This appears to be something someone had done after market.

That's confusing. In the UK it was Mexico's with decals that wore 1600GT badges. Best thing you can do is join the AVO and RS owners clubs, which are mines of information. Twin Cams are very rare now and worth silly money over here, so worth doing the job properly.
