Why wont my escort boot open

I have bought a little S reg escort for ferrying me to work and back. The boot wont open and I dont know where to start. There is a button next to the electric window buttons but when I press it nothing happens and there is no noise. Could this be a fuse or something more.

Put the key in the hole on the boot lid, and turn it. Boot should open.

The person that is in there is holding it closed....


Assuming that it's electric opening, ie a switch instead of a lever, then first point of call is the fuse.

It wont open with the key either.

You need to get the lock fixed first, then. The electric opener won't work if the key doesn't do it, the solenoid does the same thing as turning the key.

Thanks Helldriver, I didnt know that. I thought the button would have maybe opened it. I will get a lock then.
