My 2003 focus keeps cutting out, mainly on long journeys (20+ miles). It then won't start again for about 5 minutes.

It did the same thing about a year ago, but was sorted by replacing the fuel filter. It's only started doing it over the past couple of months. It appears to started happening again after filling up at Shell?

Any suggestions on what could be causing this? The fuel filter has recently been changed but has made no difference.

Cheers

Mine was a TDdi but the throttle position sensor caused it to do this.

Fault appears to be with the EGR valve according to the fault codes.

Anyone know what's involved in removing the EGR valve? Is it a simple job?
