Focus 1.6 Zetec - Dash Problems - 2003

We have been having a couple of trouble's with the wife's Focus recently. Started of by not using it for about 3 weeks due to snow and being heavily pregnant. Battery was flat, jump started fine and battery appeared fine. Few days latter car wouldn't start, AA diagnosed need of new battery. Fitted that on Thursday.

The car worked fine until today when it appears the dash has died: When you start the car the LCD mileage reading just flashes green but displays nothing, all dials stay at zero, warning lights flash randomly in a pattern and a beep sounds every 20 seconds or so.

The AA came out, cleaned the earths and said the battery was over charging and was emitting circa 14.8v

Any hot ideas other than needing a new instrument cluster, which I understand is fairly common? Going to get it booked in, just want to know what ballpark we're looking at.
