My wife's little 1.4tdci fiesta bought new nearly 4 years ago.
Last year, I decided that the poor starting, and clattery nature of the lump were not right, so took it into the dealer we bought it from. Well, actually, no the dealer we bought it from had closed that branch, and the "car supermarket" had taken over the franchise.
Upshot was it was a well known fault with these, leaking injector seal (s).
Fast forward to 10 months later and once again it sounds like a bag of spanners, and takes a long while o start. I phoned them yesterday, to ask if warranty repairs are warrantied, i.e. if the same part has failed again, is it covered ?
They dug out the history, and said well, we replaced no4 injector seal, so it may well be one of the other 3 that has failed this time, and no, it will not be a warranty claim.
My question is, should the dealer have changed all 4 while he had the car in bits (apparently it is not an easy job on this PSA sourced motor) or am I looking at a £300 bill to put right something that ideally should have ben done under warranty.
Car has done 42,000 miles in just short of 4 years.

No, Ford will only pay for the 'failed part'.
Yes, all Ford parts come with a 1 year warranty from manufacturers defect.
Honestly, I would imagine that is it 1,2 or 3 that has failed. However, to get out of having to re-claim and get some retail money in the till, they may say that it is 1,2 or 3 when it is actually no.4 - just a heads up.
