Glad to see you have made a good choice in vehicles.

I did manage to insure a 1.6 when I was 17, although that was 15 years ago now.

I'm sure it is possible, might be best to try someone like Adrian Flux etc.

Be prepared to have your wallet raped.

Get yourself on a comparison website and play around.

Add your parents to the policy, think about how many miles you'll do and pehaps limit it, play around with the voluntary exess and where you park it (drive, street, garage).

It will be expensive to insure whatever car you drive at 17 so you may as well spend the money to drive something you like and will enjoy!

Good luck!! - i'm 21 and looking at insurance again. Currently £1400 for a 2.0L mondeo lol but in a months time it will be £690.....

Will be very very expensive but can done.

Try PassPlus, and put your Mum on the policy as a SECOND driver. That might get it below £2k.

Insure it as a classic car with limited mileage?

Also, check out some of the Classic Ford / Capri etc clubs as they might have special discounts for members.

Didnt realise that you have to be a certain age for it.

Should get insured on it but would be surprised if you manage to get it under £2000. I paid £2500 at 18 with 1 year experience on a Fiesta ST.

Few tips that worked for me was to put your mum on their, put annual mileage at 6000 and say it will be parked on the street, seems weird but was £600 cheaper for me to keep it on the street than it would of been if I had of said that it was being kept in the garage!

Oh and once you get it DONT CRASH!

Good luck
