Fiesta ST or Vauxhall Corsa VXR ?

Hi, I'm looking at buying either one of these cars for the Mrs but i can't decide ( i think she prefers the Ford but i'm leaning toward the Vauxhall) both can be bought for the same money, authough the Fiesta would have lower mileage, but it is an older model compared to the vxr which I have driven, and thought it was good, i also liked the interior as the st seems a bit dated now ? any thoughts on either car? I know this is a ford forum, i need the positives on buying the st please, cheers Mark.

Well, the Ford won't melt it's pistons every other month like the VXR for a start.

If was me i'd be looking at the Ford, but one with esp specced. Less to go wrong as there's no turbo etc. Look smart as opposed to chavvy.

I'd go with the Corsa Vxr as its newer, plus it has almost 50 more bhp lol

Fiesta ST isn't a particularly powerful car really, if I was forced to choose between the two I'd be tempted by the VXR.

I'm not a fan of both. The Fiesta never had the power it deserved it also has a pretty tacky interior. Does handle well and looks OK, if a little old now.
I really don't like the Corsa. A triangle exhaust, chavvy looks, every man and his dog has one. My list goes on and on. I really HATE the Corsa.

The market for small-hot hatchback was pretty poor until the end of last year with the likes of VW, Audi, Citreon etc bringing out some pretty sexy cars.

Of the two, i'd get the VXR.. I've driven them at Brands and Thruxton.. quite a chuckable car with reasonable poke..

But yeah... i'd consider a Clio as well..

Your looking at 2 completely different cars really,
Both small hot hatches but in terms of power...different leagues
So it depends what you want

A small fun chuckable B road car or a serious performance hatch

Don't forget the ST will get 30mpg+ and the VXR 22mpg (a mates mpg)

Thread update, well we drove the ST and the VXR but without doubt the best one in terms of a driving experiance was the Clio cup which we bought !
