Both fronts have snapped says the garage during an MOT. 2006 Fiesta. Never had this on a car before, common thing for ford or just one of them things? Cannot think why, don't go rallying in it.
It does happen. I've read a few threads on here and elsewhere where that's happened on Focuses/Foci (?). They usully snap near the end of the springs and the damage can be hard to spot if it's hidden by the spring seat/cup.
suspension springs are getting more common in failure due to potholes, speed humps etc causing them to break. Mate has a garage and says 10 yrs ago they would last the life of the car and now its just as disposable as shock absorbers etc.
