Ford Mondeo modifications?

Due to insurance reasons, it looks like I am going to have to keep my Mondeo for another year. Don't get me wrong - it is a very good car and the only reason I want to swap it is because I fancy a change.

The car is a 2002 1.8 LX on a 52 plate with 87k on the clock. Flew through it's last MOT with no problems at all.

Is there anything that I can do to the car, cosmetic or performance wise, to make it a bit more interesting for another year? And are there any common major faults that I should be looking out for?

Here is a picture of the car in question - feel free to post any ideas at all you may have. I am just testing the waters at the moment!

IMO no point pissing around with it at all. Cosmetically would be ST220 bits-expensive. Performance, from a 1.8, pointless. keep as standard as easier to sell on when the time comes.

How about a set of clear or smoked side indicator repeaters.

As little as possible really - but I don't want to spend too much on a car that I probably won't keep that long. Maybe £500 or so?

Unfortunately, the best way of upgrading things like Mondeos is to sell it and get a 2.0 or 2.5. I don't think I would do much more than replace some of the front suspension bushes with uprated Polybush (or similar) and perhaps a set of sportier tyres. A fancy exhaust would probably cost more than a years ownership would be worth.

The only mod could be a taxi number on the back...................Just leave it and run it and sell it ...............
