Focus st exhaust

I really want a bit more noise from my exhaust on a focus st but I just don't have the money to spend at the moment. Does anyone know what it might sound like if I replaced the centre box with straight pipe? All the aftermarket systems tend to be just a backbox so I'm guessing just an increase in volume? Has anyone tried this? Cheers

It can be done and a few people have done this on their cars at STOC. It seems for the money, you'd be better off saving for a bit longer and get a nice stainless system. Many choices of systems available. The only thing it wont give is any real power gain whatever you do whether taking the middle box out or a performance system. You will need a freer flowing cat and turbo downpipe to make a performance system to work better.
