Is it worth doing?

Recently got myself into a redrose tuscan and i love the thing. When i got it i got a good deal on the car as the paint is a little shabby, nothing too bad just a few scrapes (a parking scrape on each 'bumper' , a few badly repaired chips and quite a few stone chips on the front end.)
I'm not sure if it can be 'touched in' , im terrified of car bodyshops as they seem to have a worse image than builders imo, im worried i'll spend a grand and it will actually look worse. The paint is 10 years old too which i imagine doesn't help.
The leather is also a bit tatty, front seats definately need a retrim and the carpet has been dyed leaving it feeling like rock
Heres where my problems start though.....
Leave it as is, appreciate that the mechanical side is very good (fresh power build), handling i reckon can be made perfect very easily.
Have it re sprayed in a form of blue (car is blue), then have seats done, forget about carpet, forget about trimming dash,doors etc, probable cost 4k i reckon.
Have it painted in a colour i like (white?) then have the whole interior re trimmed in black using leather and alcantara, buy new rubber seals,badges,gearknob etc etc, probable cost 5.5k
Does a 10 year old tuscan warrent that sort of outlay? i'm not sure how long i'll keep the car, maybe 6 months maybe 6 years? who knows.
What i dont want is to spend lots of money on it and find its worth not much more than it is now.
All said and done though it does appear that a 'mint' tuscan will be worth good money, as long as its had a rebuild. It also seems that without doubt they are going up in value.
I know people can say well its up to you, horses for courses and all that but over the last few years i have fortunately/unfortuneatly got a sensible head and think possibly too deeply before outlay.

Fell in love with a Tuscan( old one !) when i was 16,5 TVR's later never looked back,always fettling when cash allows,its the nature of the beast if you can't afford a new one.
Drive it for a month or two and enjoy,you will know if your a TVR owner or not..............

I agree with Mark, driver the car for a few months to get a feel for it, if i were you i would get the geo setup on the car first and soon so you car realy enjoy the handling then after a few months and if its a keeper then work on your master plan.
Ask your self a question....do you like how you feel inside or how you look....
Either do the interior first or paint.
As for value, will what ever you spend you will never get it back its all personal choises but owning a Tvr well it got nothing to do with that it costs to keep or tune up...

I will keep it for as long as i can afford to or until i can get a sagaris 
Problem for me is a couple of things.
I crave a car so desperately when i don't have one, i spend hours and hours trawling the classifieds, for years i have wanted a tvr, i very nearly bought one in 04 but didn't as it was back then too much money. Being self employed can mean for me that when work goes quiet the first thing to go is the car, its always a foolish move though as i tend to end up loosing lots of money and then within a few months im looking for another.
I love the car, its what i always wanted, raw, challenging, stunning to look at, great steering feel amongst other things. The handling is actually very good i think, just a couple of easily resolved problems, i think im going to fit an s front splitter to help with lift, i think the rear suspension is too hard and coupled with 3 year old rubber which i think has gone off which makes the wheels spin excessivly so soften the rears and get some decent sticky tyres on there will be much better i think.
I do think maybe i should drive it for a while and see how i get on, i have already lost the car for a while this summer as its having a rebuild so maybe i'll do it all over winter.
