Is the Mobil 4T Motorcycle oil the same as the Mobil Motorsport oil that is thicker & generally regarded as better suited to the V8 ?

Don't use motorbike oil in your car, completely different oils for completely different needs. Can't remember the techi answer.

..but its fully synthetic rated at 15W50, has the same API rating.. Surely it cant be that different ?!

From what I´ve read in mcn tests etc it is exactly the same stuff.

IIRC you can't use motor oil in bikes because of their wet clutch's (well except ducati's and some others) so I would imagine there would be some difference...

Thanks for reminder, wet clutches was what I was trying to recall. There are numerous additives in motorcycle oil which you won't find in car oil. I did read somewhere years ago warning of this for car engines.

The oil you have used is designed for use on motorcycle engines. running wet clutches. it doesnt have the additives you would find in a normal engine oil which would cause the clutch to slip on a bike.
It is however fine to use it in your TVR, as it is a very good quality lubricant capable of protecting highily stressed, air cooled motor bike engines revving to over 10000rpm.
I have just had my chimaera seviced with this oil by a very knowledgable specialist who swears by it.
