I'm about to open a can of worms...thanks to Aaron @ sunninghill for listening to my banter btw.

My point is this...if you have NOS fitted to a car, technicaly this can be regarded as a "removable mod"
I have a decision as to when and where i deploy it, i can remove it if need be, and will do so when the car is not on the track. I would be foolish to use NOS on the road (in the eyes of the law & myself). BUT if i was to fit a set of slicks say, and "dinged" the car while on a trackday, it would be covered in the eyes of the insurers....even on slicks....BUT what if NOS was being used? They say no!
surely this is the same as fitting slicks, i.e illegal on the road, BUT almost par for the course, on the circuit.

Howabout if the owner signed a disclaimer for / to the insurance company saying that if the car was involved in an on road accident & nos was able to be deployed then the insurance would be invalid? thus we would drive around with the bottle disconnected?

I just want to also say sorry to Aaron for giving him some friday afternoon grief, but inview of the fact a lot of us pay the Bagshot boys a lot of money each year, it would be great if our corner would be represented.

But NOS is road legal, so I can't see the comparison?

Maybe just try another insurance co.
