Wedge or S for a track car?

I am thinking of buying a TVR as a track day car. I'd like to purchase something around the £4-5k mark and then have the suspension sorted, roll bars, bucket seat and harnesses fitted. Which model do you think would make the best basis for a fun track car that can be made to handle reasonably well? I am not looking to spend a fortune; have always fancied a wedge so seems like a good excuse. I recently purchased a track prepared 944 but it doesn't really do it for me.
