Thinking about going up on B/H Monday, would like to be on the doorstep for an early start.

Also where can I book tickets online to the Motor show?

The big hotel right next door is the Hilton Metropole, but sit down before you ask for room rates.

Al

Why not stay another night where you will be on Sunday? Its not a million miles from Birmingham.

There is the Crown Plaza which is a very nice hotel, all so the Novatel at the airport, then its just a free train ride to the NEC. Or there is the Arden Hotel, not stayed there so dont know. I would go for the Crown Plaza or the Hilton depending on budget!

There's 3 of us from work in the Hilton Metropole all this week - room rates varying from 80-140 night (the lower being corporate rates I think).

All hotels very busy and we had trouble getting in them so I'd try and book as early as poss.

They put the rates up for the motor show because there is lots of demand from "working girls".

(Car salesmen being so fg ugly and without personality that they have to pay for it).

Al, we stayed in the Holiday in Crown Plaza just a few weeks ago.

Got the room cheap (£70) and then got a free upgrade to a luxury room which included a free bottle of wine!
It was a 1 minute (or less) walk to the NEC and a very nice modern hotel. The hotel also sets on the edge of a large lake so the views are good. it also has secure boom-gate parking.
The bar was good too and busy for a hotel.

If you're still struggling for a hotel and don't mind being about 20-25 minutes away I can give you several near to where I live - just tell me your price bracket.
