Anyone know the best price for mobil 1 15w/50 motorsport. Have just priced it on demon tweeks as i was ordering some 40amp fuses and they are asking £14.52 1litre and £47.88 4 litres. How do Halfords compare or does someone know where to get it cheaper.
Am going to Belgium next month but need some now and to take with me.

the local halfords doesn't seem to get the 15w50 anymore, it's all the 0w40 stuff...... but thats around the £35 for 4 litres mark.

Probably best to get a litre to take with you then stock up on the continent. Forget bringing beer/wine back and stock up with Mobil 1 instead.

The cheap stuff in France is usualy 5w/40 not 15w/50, which is the motorsport stuff. My local Halfords sell it for £35 per 4L. I find it very good as it doesnt get too thin when the engines hot. And oil consumption on my car is about 1L per 5000 miles, and that includes the oil leak from the sump plug!?!

Costco sell the 0w/40 Mobil 1 for ~£25 - but I don't think they sell the 15w/50 unfortunatley.....

I've been doing this for the last two years, the only thing is that the french don't seem to stock anything thicker than 0w-40. But Le Clerc's hypermarche's sell it for around £21 for 4l

Have a word with your friendly local motor factor. I get mine for £30 for 4 litres (15/50 m/sport). That's not the ticket price but they always seem happy to discount if you ask nicely - mind you my car drinks it! Alternatively I expect your dealer/independent could match that price.

Thanks for the replies. Will give my local Halfords a ring and see if they stock the 15w/50. Pity they dont do 40amp fuses as well.

Somebody told me you can import really low-priced fully synth motorsport engine oil from Ireland... never chased it up though... maybe we should all get together and order a few barrells in bulk....

You could always ask your local VW dealerships... They used to use it on the Diesels... (Same spec.)

Now they switched to Castrol though... Not many OEM's use MOBIL1 anymore, it became too expensive.. Most use Shell and Castrol now.

I went to Halfrauds to buy an oil filter and oil. They couldn't match the land rover part no. so I just bought the oil, 0W/40 4l for £33. Went round the corner to a motor discount shop and they matched the oil filter and had the oil for £29.

I bought two bottles aswell I could have saved £8 and bought beer instead.
