Good luck Derek, you need it after your exploits!
I would have liked to come and take part but am taking the opportunity for major mechanical surgery!
Might be down to low 12's next time, don't want to be knocked off the top chim n/a slot on your list
.
Tweet, what's that, I don't even understand facemagazine
, I think I'll just go and put an album on.

Upgrades or repairs?
Thanks for the good luck, i will need all i can get.
I am confident my fuelling will be safe enough for the trip but as i put miles on the car after so long off the road and so much work done i guess any issues no matter how small will become evident. (I hope there are no further vital parts still missing

).Everything is noted in my book of experience which, now is now a bit of an epic!
Derek, when I was about 20, I missed off a similar spacer from a 3.1 V6 Essex engine I built.
Result was too much friction at that point and it wouldn't turn over fast enough to fire up!
Newly acquired 5.0n going to V8D for;
Cross bolting,
Balancing,
Flywheel lightening,
Possibly new pistons, rings and honing if deemed necessary.
Back to me for;
My stage 4 heads, manifold, trumpets and all my previous stuff,
A Crower cam and lifters,
Larger injectors.
That will do for now then a Mega squirt or similar when I can.
Btw is this O/T?

.quote]Low 12's you say

What was it? A 12.7 and a 12.6?
The grip there was suprisingly good but if the pod is playing ball you will be running low 12's easy.
BTW Peter, is there a new clutch in this master plan of yours?
Or should i not go there....

Defo a new clutch while I'm spending.
Any suggestions on a good one to fit?
I fitted a John Eales 500lb/ft jobbie over 2 years ago and was/am very happy with it.Any suggestions on a good one to fit?
I recommended the same to Mac Jones(macdeb) and hes having trouble with it not releasing fully

I will let you know if he sorts it.
