I just re-fixed the rubber strip between the top of the windscreen and the roof of the Cerbera, using Tiger Seal.

I first did it with just normal black silicone and it just started flapping, as you described. I was recommended to use something much stronger - the Tiger Seal has done the trick. It's been on there to Le Mans and back - so speed, heat and rain! And it's still there!

I think this is used more for (exposed) bonding of wood, metal, ceramics and plastics and although it doesn't list rubber as a suitable substrate material, I think it might just do the trick given its properties being of an elastic adhesive nature.

Just don't go emptying the tube on it!

In my experience, the best product to use is simply heat,and light pressure.- as was used on first fitment, at the factory. Have you had the windscreen replaced at any time?

yes that WAS what was used at the factory,as for heat and simple pressure never used in the factory sikaflex for bonding the screen in sikaflex for bonding the rubber screen seal,and you guessed it sikaflex for bonding the lower seal to the screen and super glue yes super glue not sikaflex for the ends where the lower seal meets the surround seal

I'll be doing mine tomorrow with sikaflex 291 so if I manage not to stick myself to the car then i'll come back and let you know how it goes!!

Oh, and whats wrong with superglue!!

Superglue weakens the laminate in the screen only a specialist glue is used for sticking mirror boss back on to screens usually a 2 pack glue. Superglue generally is a no no.

Just a short update for anyone thats interested... the Sikaflex 291 worked pretty well. Fairly easy to work with, and definitely is holding solid!
