White Cerbera Speed 12 GT2?
Discussion
I found this image this afternoon, anyone know the story behind it? I have been researching this car solid for about a year now, and have got about 200 pics from everything starting at the 7/12 mock model to the ruby red Cerbera Speed 12 (which I have concentrated on) to start a website.
Any info will be helpfull. Unfortunately the website mentioned in the image is down?

Ok, as far as I'm aware, Powertour was a BRDC promotion sponsored by Privilege Insurance, which included the Brithish GT championship.

I thought the pic you have is a cerbera speed12 GT2 as raced in 2000 by Ian McKellar Jnr/Bobby Verdon-Roe. But after looking at this thread I may be wrong.
One was also raced in 2002 by Rob Barff/Michael Caine but I have no idea if it was the same car or not.
I would be really interested to see the website once you've finished.

right i think i have this correct at the start of the season when the factory speed12 was painted black there was a second speed12 running in the series and it was this white one my memory fails me as to who drove it though, however i don't think this one lasted in the series to long as the factory car needed the parts. carrying on from this as you have done a lot of research, where are all the speed12's now?
(edited to say.... i think it was the 2001 British GT championship running as part of the powertour package)

Well firstly, I am very greatful to those who replied. Following the informatoin stored within and extrenally from the thread was very helpful.
I will be sure to post a link to the website here at pistonheads.com when it is online and will be looking for feedback and input.
As to the whereabouts of the speed 12 family cars to date? Well this what I THINK is the current situation.
1) Original TVR 7/12 prototype - was simply a shell and waistes away out the back of blackpool.
2) TVR Speed 12 production model - toured the motorshows during 98-99. Now lives at blackpool, but indoors - without an engine.
3) TVR Speed 12 GT1 racer - raced for a few seasons in the white/blue colours but was then outlawed due to rule changes. It is now been repainted to the purple-effect colour as the other speed 12 and sits alongside it - with an engine.
4) TVR Cerbera Speed 12 concepts - 2 cars appeared in the same purple effect colour as the last two and had a 4 headlights cluster aswell as some huge side body intakes. The cars were later stripped back to the carbon Fibre, and were presented with 3 headlights and was used for testing. ( I believe these cars chasis became the following 2 racers)
5) TVR Cerbera Speed 12 GT2 Racer 1 - Used a new body that did away with the side arch intakes. prepeared in the light Blue Scania colours for the 2000 season. Press day images of the car show it with 3 headlights but one of them slightly low. During the racing series, the lower light was raised.
The car was later, re-painted in the black colour for the 2001 season, and then to purple in 2002 (could of possibly been a write off after the Caine's huge crash).
6) TVR Cerbera Speed 12 GT2 Racer 2 - Appeared in white in 2001 as the second factory car but was later announced not to race. The car was either used as a parts bin, or rebult as Caines new replacement Puple car (not sure)
7) TVR Cerbera Speed 12 Road - Appeared in 2000 in the colour Silver. The car was later repainted to cherry red and now sits back at blackpool with rumors suggesting it has been purchased and is currently being prepared for the new owner.
Therefore..... the cars that definately still exist are,
Project 712 car (rotting)
Speed 12 production model
Speed 12 GT1 racer
One of the Cerbera Speed 12 racers
Cerbera Speed 12 road car.
This is my understanding of the situation. If anyone has anything to add I would love to hear it. I am trying to get my information as correct as possible before preparing the website.
Cheers,
Rowan.

Excellent stuff Rowan.
Did you ever locate the models you were looking for back when I was Cerbera2004?
This subject is of great interest to me but I have as yet had not time to do
any research for my site other than collect some photos which I am sure you already have.
Keep in touch about your site, as I'd love to run a feature about racing Cerberas at
some point in time.
Thanks again and good luck.

A Friend of an aquaintence told me he had offered £115k to PW for a TVR but didn't know which one - I showed him a pic of a Speed 12 and he said that was probably it - I too was told that it was being prepared for a new owner when I visited the factory last autumn.
