Next big TVR event?
Discussion
When is the next big TVR event that might be good to attend with a view to selling my car?
Looks like I just missed one!
I wouldn't mind bringing my car to a place where there's a high concentration of TVR fans and collectors. I think my car would cause a bit of a stir...

er it's already in the classifieds. The idea of a TVR event is that you have a high concentration of people who like TVRs in the one place and interested parties can see the car there and then and go out for rides in it if they wish. If I could enter the car into a concours event or similar so much the better.
But thanks all the same for the rolling eyes.

This actually raises an interesting question.
At some of the big TVR events why not have a 'paddock' for cars that are up in the classifieds?
Obviously, there are plenty of potential buyers at these events and the chance to see a group of Tivs in the flesh that are up in the classifieds and talk to the owners would surely be of help to both buyers and sellers?
Could be an easy thing to do that adds value all round?

Top suggestion.
TVRs are a very specialised market. Most people wouldn't dream of buying one but those who've had one find it hard to go back to run of the mill stuff afterwards and tend to miss their car terribly after it's gone, even if it was a pain at times! They really get under your skin but there's no point trying to convert sceptics or waste time doing test drives for the merely curious.
How hard could it be to organise on here (famous last words!)? I guess somewhere in the midlands would be best for everyone? We could even do a big motorway services? One problem is that seeing lots of other TVRs and meeting decent fellow owners fuels the passion which doesn't help when you're trying to sell!

The problem with doing something like that as a stand alone event, rather than just an area cordoned off at a normal one would be that half the blokes there would be miserable sods struggling to come to terms with the fact that their wife has told them to sell the car.
It would be like going to a funeral.
No reason why at the big summer events the organisers couldn't levy a small fee to put your car in a special area. It would be an additional revenue stream for the event and possibly a really nice service for buyers and sellers.
