Anyone ever heard of or seen this before.

Fire started in the column stalks apparently!!?

What other weird TVR failures have you had / seen?

I've seen it in a Pug 106, we managed to extinguish the fire before it really got started so little damage was done.

Happened me twice, in 2 different VW Polos. First time, I noticed the smoke and was able to sort it. Second time I wasn't so lucky and lost the car.

They say that they can repair it for a grand. Properly repaired its easily worth well over 10k, even as a cat D. Begs the question why don't they? scratchchin

The interesting question is - if the cost of repairs is about £2-3,000 - what idiot from what insurance company or loss adjuster wrote it off. The insurers would have paid out far less.

The insurance company will normaly write off internal fire damage even if its only a small fire because the ash inside is carcinogenic , they often do the same with light water damage cars because of the spors
