Ann Manning, MD of Manning's, has contributed to these pages in the past, although she doesn't seem to have done so since January.
Maybe this would be a good opportunity for her to use her right to reply...

Ive just had to change from Mannings as their quote was over a grand more than the best I had had! when I told them how much my best quote was, the chap said that he didnt realy want to insure Tuscan S's and that 1 in 4 Tuscans get written off, so they are a bad risk. Is this right or just sour grapes? I would have liked to have remained with them as they had always been helpfull and polite in the past but no one is going wear that kind of differance are they?

[political hat on]
Ann knows that the administrative side of things has the occasional hiccup (
). Ann has known about this for some years. Sadly, remedial improvements are progressing at a slower pace than if I were boss. The business process at Mannings requires the customer to ring-up a month after renewal to request the correct policy documentation.

It's fecking irritating Ann, sort it out! These are not minority complaints. The policy is excellent (save the 15 quid admin fee for loan cars), why must we endure crappy admin?

I also think that as a TVRCC affiliated scheme its unfair. Last year I paid my TVRCC fee I thought I'd take advantage of insurance discount offered by Mannings. Turned out they wouldnt insure me because it was my first performance car (and they were also very condescending). Surely every club member should have the right to join a club scheme, afterall we all pay the same membership fee and should be entiltled to the same discounts. Personally I think TVR should negotiate a scheme with a different company.
Incidently, on my renewal this year I tried Mannings but they ended up more expensive than others, even with the TVRCC discount!
